Dragons
I am reading a book called Behold the Dragons by Gail Gibbons. I found this book in my school library. The book is about all of the different parts of the dragons, and what the different dragons are called and how cool they are. There are even lizards and stuff in the back.
Here are some of the things I learned from reading this book:
A long time ago almost every one in the world believed in them. I think they are pretty neat. Do you? Did you know how many different kinds of them there are? I am guessing that there are more than a thousand different kinds of dragons.
Dragons were born to be evil.
Hercules had to fight a dragon called the Hydra.
A lot of brave knights and kings had to fight dragons.
King Arthur battled Dragamont, and Dragamont was a dragon. If Dragamont was real, then dragons were real.

Dragons are very mysterious creatures. I didn't know King Arthur battled a dragon! Thanks for that!

Wow what a great topic. I don't know how many dragons there are but I don't think that I would want to battle one. I think you did a really great job!

I'm not sure that dragons are *born* evil. I think a lot of them become evil, but hasn't even one person spoken about a dragon who was good? Maybe all dragons are born good and just have mean moms and dads, who make them eat coal for dinner and yell at them a lot. That's my idea, anyway.
If you were alive back then, would you be a knight and kill dragons, or would you have a different job?

Hi There!
My son loves Dragons! We have read Eragon, The Dragon Riders, and my favorite book from when I was little is The Dragon's Handbook, all about a boy and his friend, the dragon. Maybe we can share these books together!

Thanks for the cool info about dragons! I agree with Stu -- I believe there were probably some good dragons out there as well. Puff the Magic Dragon, for example.
Looking forward to your next post!
